iMIS Financials overview training.

This class provides valuable information about the iMIS accounting processes and their interaction with other iMIS commerce modules—Billing, Events, Expo, Orders, and Fund Raising.  The course will focus on the AR/Cash module, which provides the central cash receipt and accounts receivable tracking utility for all iMIS commerce modules.  All accounting-related entries flow through and are managed by the AR/Cash module.

This class will be helpful if you:

• Are responsible for reconciling iMIS to your general ledger system
• Are using iMIS deferred income and are not sure about how iMIS handles this accounting area
• Need to improve your month-end reconciliation processes and are not sure how to being
• Are new to your organization and/or iMIS and the iMIS accounting modules and need a quick ‘get started’ class.

Agenda

This one-day course consists of both presentation material and hands-on exercises that include entering and editing direct transactions, reversing payments and creating refunds, handling refund processing through iMIS, running trial balances, statements, and cash transaction reports, and running deferred income reports.

Course Goals

By actively participating in this class, you’ll learn:

• Understand how AR/Cash module works with the other iMIS commerce modules to handle payments, refunds, and cancellations.
• Learn when and how to use the AR/Cash direct transaction types (Sales, Cash Receipts, Credit Memos, and Debit Memos).
• Learn how to process NSF checks.
• Learn how to handle wire transfers to maintain proper accounting.
• Learn how to work with the Verisign payment gateway for automatic credit card authorization and how to research credit card transactions.
• Learn how to work with and correct deferred income tables and transactions.
• Learn how to issue refunds and write off balances (debit and credit).
• Learn how to use the many AR/Cash standard reports.
• Learn how to improve your month-end reconciliation processes and prepare for GL updates.

Who Should Attend

This class is designed for iMIS accounting staff who want to improve their understanding of iMIS and how it affects their Accounting system’s general ledger.

Prerequisites

Students should have basic familiarity with the iMIS application, including basic name retrieval. This information can be obtained by attending an iMIS Overview Class (also conducted by BroadPoint Technologies or by BroadPoint consulting staff at your office location.
